To start In Pyre Need head to the Burning area right below Piscatoris Fishing Colony and speak to the Priest of Guthix. He will beg you to help the Phoenix who lives in the cave. He will explain that the Phoenix must go through a certain ritual to be reborn, or it will die forever. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but the Phoenix is badly injured and needs help completing the ritual. He will ask you to do the ritual, agree and then ask him about the lair to receive the items necessary for the quest. Secateurs, a knife, and a tinderbox.
Twig Collector-
Now enter the cave, in each room of the cave will be a tree which you can locate in the green area of the room. These rooms are random, so they will not be the same every time you visit. Harvest the twigs from the tree then head onto the next room, the exit will always be on the northern half of the room, but not necessarily on the northern wall, and is visible on the minimap as a red line. If you leave the cave you will have to get new twigs, but its really easy so there’s no reason to leave. After you have got all 5 twigs and reached the 6th room you will see the Phoenix.
A Joyous Death-
Now use your knife on one of the twigs in your inventory and they will all be cut into ribbons. Use a ribbon on the pile of logs to build the Pyre, the Phoenix will then proceed to climb on top of it. Use the tinderbox on it and the Phoenix will burn up, you saved it! Speak to the reborn Phoenix and it will give you 5 Phoenix quills, and grant you the right to challenge it in combat daily. Finish talking to the Phoenix then choose the escape option on the cave exit. Speak to the Priest and the quest will be complete!
